2024 MLB MVP odds: Aaron Judge, Shohei Ohtani running away from the pack | Fox News
Updated

The MLB All-Star break is just around the corner, but are the MVP races already decided?

In the American League, the Bronx Bombers have been in a mini-slump, but they still have the second-most wins in the majors at 54, due in large part to the remarkable play of Aaron Judge.

Through July 2, the Yankees slugger has hit for .316 with 82 RBI, 65 runs scored and a league-leading 31 home runs.

Judge has been so dominant that his MVP odds shortened from -140 to -270 over the past week, despite the Yanks going 2-4 in that span.

Let's check out the AL MVP odds at FanDuel Sportsbook as of July 2.

American League MVP Odds:

Aaron Judge, New York Yankees: -270 (bet $10 to win $13.70 total)
Gunnar Henderson, Baltimore Orioles: +350 (bet $10 to win $45 total)
Juan Soto, New York Yankees: +1600 (bet $10 to win $170 total)
Bobby Witt Jr., Kansas City Royals: +2500 (bet $10 to win $260 total)
Jose Ramirez, Cleveland Guardians: +4000 (bet $10 to win $410 total)
Steve Kwan, Cleveland Guardians: +10000 (bet $10 to win $1,010 total)

While Judge's odds have shortened, favorites Juan Soto and Bobby Witt Jr. saw their odds tumble from +550 and +500, respectively, to +1600 and +2500. Only Gunnar Henderson, at +350, is currently within striking distance.

Over in the National League, Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani has also been on fire since teammate Mookie Betts suffered a left-hand fracture that will sideline him for six to eight weeks.

When it comes to MVP odds, there's a similar story in the National League, as Shohei Ohtani's odds shortened to -230 from -105 over the past week.

Ohtani, who moved into the NL favorite slot after Betts went down, has distanced himself from the competition. He has a .316 batting average with 102 hits, 26 homers, 62 RBIs and 67 runs scored.

Ohtani is comfortably in front of the second-odds favorite, teammate Freddie Freeman, who moved from +1300 to +750 over the week.

Phillies superstar Bryce Harper saw his odds fall to +850 from +200, despite the Phillies holding the best record in baseball at 55-29.

Let's check out the NL MVP odds at FanDuel as of July 2.
